Hoops, Homers, and Hard Decisions
It is officially the best time of the year! The SMQB crew is back for Episode 258, and with March Madness in full swing, the energy is through the roof. We just got back from a scouting trip to Nashville for the SEC Tournament, and let’s just say some teams looked like world-beaters while others… well, they laid a massive egg. Between debating if Purdue’s Braden Smith will shatter the all-time NCAA assist record or if Arizona is destined for their annual heartbreak, we’re laying out our full bracket locks and sleepers you won’t want to miss.
But we didn’t stop at the hardwood. We’re also diving deep into the high-stakes drama of the World Baseball Classic. If you caught that U.S. vs. Dominican Republic thriller, you know the ending was as controversial as it gets. Was that final pitch actually a strike? The guys have some very strong opinions on the “robot ump” debate and whether the Dominican squad got robbed. Plus, we’re recapping Venezuela’s shocking upset over Japan and looking ahead to the semi-finals.
To top it all off, we’ve launched our own version of March Madness: a 64-event bracket to crown the greatest sports competition of all time. We’re pitting the heavy hitters like the Super Bowl and the World Series against wildcards like the Iditarod and the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest. The first-round upsets are already flying—you won’t believe which global soccer derby just knocked out one of golf’s most prestigious trophies. Grab a drink and tune in; this is one for the ages.
