Meet Bryan Pope
Bryan Pope is a personal injury trial lawyer and is a managing partner at The Cochran Firm - Texas in Dallas.
Some call him a ‘band wagoner’ but he prefers the term ‘passionate sports enthusiast’. Pope, the man whose last name is cool enough he doesn’t need a nickname, comes by it naturally.
He spent grade school in Alabama during the Bear Bryant years then moved to Chapel Hill, NC when a skinny kid from Wilmington named Michael played. When it was time for college, he chose SMU in Dallas so he could enjoy some big-time college football. Decision making wasn’t his strong suit though as SMU faced the death penalty his last two years because they were engaging in NIL before NIL was cool.
He follows all of Dallas’ professional teams and for some unknown reason continues to believe the Cowboys will make it back to the Super Bowl one day. Since his dad grew up in Atlanta, he also has a soft heart for the Atlanta Braves. Loyalty conflicts to his many teams tie him in knots to the delight of his fellow Podcasters. He is also the self-proclaimed golf and tennis expert when the Majors come around.
His real sports skill set is found in his sports brain that has been cultivated and nurtured over 58 years of digesting box scores, watching nightly Sports Centers, and attending as many big games as possible. All this passion for sports means he can pull obscure sports facts from thin air, mystifying many, most of all his wife who wonders why he can’t monetize that skill.
